Dr. Radingoana, a Senior Lecturer at the University of South Africa, holds a PhD in Environmental and Water Sciences from the University of the Western Cape. Recognized by Mail & Guardian as one of the 200 Young South Africans under 35 making an impact in Education for 2023, she has made significant strides in food security, rural community development, and sustainable environmental management. Her PhD research focused on the health and nutritional impacts of greywater reuse in agriculture, aiming to address UN Sustainable Development Goals in arid regions. Dr. Radingoana has supervised 17 honors students and currently mentors 2 MSc and 3 PhD students. She has presented at various international and national conferences and serves as a reviewer for several scientific journals. Professionally registered with both the Society of South African Geographers and the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions, she is noted for her strong research, teaching, and presentation skills.

With over 20 years of experience in civil and coastal engineering, I am a seasoned professional specializing in seawater intake and outfall systems, port and terminal layouts, container handling, and berthing designs. My expertise spans both large and small-scale projects, including site assessments, quay services, and harbour rehabilitation. My civil engineering background includes hydraulic designs, pumping systems, river floodline assessments, and civil services design. I have worked in diverse locations such as South Africa, Namibia, Malawi, Angola, Botswana, and internationally across Australia, Germany, and beyond. Miguel Ángel Sanz is the President and Founder of MS Water Consult, established in 2022. With over 41 years in the international water sector, he spent 39 years with Suez Group, holding various key positions such as Technical Director, Desalination Manager, and Director of Strategic Development.

A former President of the International Desalination and Reuse Association (IDRA) and a board member since 2009, Miguel Ángel also serves on the Board of AEDyR and has been a director at the European Desalination Society (EDS).

He has extensive experience in desalination, water treatment, and wastewater management, contributing to numerous global projects. An active figure in the water community, he has published over 50 papers and participated in over 200 international events, including chairing seven major conferences. Miguel Ángel holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from the Bilbao High Technical School of Engineers.

Santiago is a skilled environmental chemical engineer with a BScEng and MScEng, complemented by a PhD focusing on thermochemical processes for biofuel production, including pyrolysis, gasification, and combustion. Since 2014, Santiago has been a key researcher at the WASH R&D Centre (formerly the Pollution Research Group) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where they have led projects on decentralized sanitation treatment systems. Their work includes supporting and advising sanitation practitioners, supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate students, and fostering collaborations with a range of national and international research institutions.

Santiago has developed significant expertise in thermal processes for sanitation, such as thermal and solar drying, and biochar generation, as well as in the characterization of faecal sludge, focusing on its physiochemical properties, rheology, and stickiness. Additionally, they have gained valuable experience in photocatalysis, dewatering, membrane technologies, and activated carbon, contributing to a broad understanding of environmental and sanitation challenges.
